Questions to Ask Before You Enrol
Take these questions into any conversation with a training provider, including us. Good providers answer them plainly.
About the credential
- What exactly do I hold at the end of this course, and who issues it?
- Is certification testing included, or arranged and paid for separately?
- How long is the certification valid, and what is required to maintain it?
- Is this certification recognised by the organisations I am applying to? (Confirm with those organisations directly — no provider can answer this on their behalf.)
About the training itself
- How much of the course is hands-on practice versus lecture?
- What is the learner-to-instructor ratio during practical skills?
- What equipment will I actually handle, and how often?
- How are skills assessed, and what happens if I do not meet a standard on the first attempt?
- Is there any support available if I need extra time or a different pace?
About cost and logistics
- What is the total cost, including materials, testing fees, and anything I need to supply myself?
- What is the refund or transfer policy if my circumstances change?
- What is the attendance requirement, and what happens if I miss a session?
- Where is training delivered, and is any portion online?
Answers that should concern you
Be cautious if a provider guarantees you a job, a pass, or an interview; claims a relationship with a hiring service; quotes statistics it will not source; pressures you to commit the same day; or is vague about total cost.
None of that means every confident provider is misleading you. It means specifics should be available on request. Training is a professional service, and you are entitled to know what you are buying before you buy it.
Ask us the same questions
We hold ourselves to this list. If you ask us something we cannot answer accurately, we will tell you that instead of guessing — including telling you when we are not the right fit for what you need.
This page is general educational guidance. Requirements and processes vary between services and change over time — always confirm details directly with the service or institution you are applying to.
